Easy Ship South Africa: A Seller’s Guide

Easy Ship South Africa
The world of e-commerce is booming in South Africa, and Amazon is a significant player. If you’re an Amazon South Africa seller here, you’ve likely encountered Easy Ship (ES), a service that simplifies the fulfilment process for eligible products. This blog post, brought to you by The Prebo Digital team, will guide you through everything you need about Easy Ship South Africa.

Understanding the Models: Drop-off vs. Pickup

Easy Ship operates using two models: Drop-off and Pickup.  Here’s a breakdown of what each entails:

Drop-off: This is the most common model, assigned to roughly 80% of sellers. You’ll be responsible for taking your packaged items to a designated Courier Guy or DPD Laser location within the provided time slots. Luckily, if a specific area isn’t assigned, you can choose any branch of the assigned courier service for drop-off.

Pickup: This model is for sellers located outside the Drop-off coverage area. During the time slots, Amazon will arrange for a courier to collect your packaged items from your designated address.

Important Notes to Remember:

You have no control over which model you’re assigned. Amazon determines this automatically based on your location.

Products exceeding the size and weight limits (details below) won’t be eligible for Easy Ship and will fall under the standard FBM (Fulfillment by Merchant) process.

What Products Qualify for Easy Ship?

Here’s the good news: Most products fit the bill for Easy Ship!  As long as your items meet the following criteria, they’ll be automatically enrolled (you can’t opt out):

Dimensions: No side should exceed 175cm.

Girth refers to the combined length and width multiplied by two (2H + 2W). The maximum circumference allowed is 419cm.

Weight: The maximum weight for Easy Ship is 32 kg.

Booking Your Drop-off or Pickup

Once you have an order fulfilled by Easy Ship, it’s crucial to book your drop-off or pickup within the designated time slots Amazon South Africa offers. This ensures timely processing and keeps your deliveries on track.

Printing Labels and Packaging

Easy Ship requires printed labels for your packages. These are readily available for download and printing through your Seller Central account.  While using your packaging, ensure the labels are securely attached to a flat, clear surface on the longest side of the box.

Handling Time and Returns

The default handling time for Easy Ship orders is set to 1 day, but you can adjust it within Seller Central.  It’s important to remember that under Easy Ship, you’re responsible for managing all returns.  So, factor in a proper return policy and efficient return handling process.

Calculating Total Delivery Time

To estimate the total delivery time for your Easy Ship orders, simply add your handling time to the shipping time provided by the chosen courier service (Courier Guy or DPD Laser).

Easy Ship South Africa offers a streamlined fulfilment solution for eligible Amazon South Africa sellers. By understanding the two models, product limitations, booking procedures, and labelling requirements, you can leverage this service to enhance your customer experience and streamline your operations.

The Prebo Digital team hopes this guide empowers you to navigate Easy Ship confidently!

By following these tips and effectively utilising Easy Ship, you can unlock the potential for faster deliveries, happier customers, and a more efficient Amazon selling experience in South Africa.
